Does AWED work with other organizations that help women entrepreneurs?
AWED works with many organizations, both in the United States and internationally, that support women business owners. Our objective in the alliances we have established with agencies such as NAWBO, Women’s Venture Fund, Accion, Black Women Enterprises, Women’s Leadership Exchange, Project Enterprise, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, WPO, WBENC, SCORE, SBA (Small Business Administration), is to be the provider of entrepreneurial training and counseling, thereby freeing these organizations to focus on their missions and strengths, i.e., micro-lending, social services, networking and advocacy. Can men attend classes or are all of your services for women? Men can attend classes at AWED. We suggest that they speak with an in-house business counselor to discuss their needs and the content of the class before enrolling. How can I become a member of AWED? To sign up for membership call our offices at 917-368-6100 or you can fill out an online application. • Regular Membership is $55 per year ($
