Does Avast home edition have a firewall if not would it be alright without one?
Avast is an AntiVirus software program. You should still be running a firewall as well. There are a few free firewall programs out there that work quite well and depending on the version of windows that you are running perhaps you have a windows firewall program on you pc that you need can use as well (windows xp and vista both have a firewall program). You can find lots of information on that by just doing a search for windows firewall. I am running Vista on the laptop and have upgraded to windows xp on the old pc and I am running Comodo Firewall on both of these. I hope this is of some help.
