Does ASR generate a case when a core dump or system panic occurs?

0

If the core dump or system panic resulted from a hardware fault, Sun™ Predictive Self-Healing on Solaris 10 diagnoses the cause and faulty field replaceable units (FRUs) for most of these faults. For Sun™ Predictive Self-Healing diagnosed CPU and memory faults, an ASR case is generated. If the hardware fault results in a system panic, the Solaris 10 Sun™ Predictive Self-Healing and FMA diagnosis normally occurs after the system is rebooted. If, due to the fault, the system is unable to reboot, there will be no diagnosis nor will an ASR case be generated. ASR does not create cases related to core dumps; however, these might fall within the scope of Sun Managed Services.
