Does anyone think u2 are an overrated rock band!?
Sanctimonious, parsimonious, pretentious, arrogant, self-righteous short-arsed git who wears leather trousers even though he’s got a gut like a Texan hot dog vendor and an **** like a badly stuffed sofa. I know he does good work but does he have to be such a patronising God’s consience about it all ? And don’t get me started on “U2 Tower”, the Dublin building that was to be erected in their honour, or addressing the Labour Party conference a few years back. Ego gone wild there I think. I honestly don’t think they’ve performed much good music in the last twenty years, Bono’s voice is pretty ropey live, their basslines are all the same and if you took The Edge’s digital delay pedal off him he’d run out of ideas in two minutes flat. No idea what Marillion have done recently but their song which included the line “She was paralysed by a streetlight and refused to give her name” was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard. Must ask my brother if he’s still got the CD…
