Does anyone think high schools should start later and finish later?
There have been many studies suggesting that in the interest of working in school when teenagers are at their peak concentration level, classes should be starting much later in the morning than they currently do. However, because of after school activities, most schools will not start classes any later during the week. If classes are started later, then after school sports and clubs would be kept later as well, and students would not be getting home until pretty late in the evening, when they should be home working on homework and eating supper with their families. Elementary schools can start later simply because they don’t have the same after school obligations. This is unfortunate, as young children seem to be awake at the crack of dawn anyway.
