Does anyone take lsd or smoke pot in the Haight Ashbury district anymore?
First of all, smoking pot doesn’t = “hippie”. Many people smoke pot and are far from hippies. Even protesting is more of a fad now than an actual statement. I mean, I was at the beach earlier and there was a protest, which is great, fine… but it seems ridiculous. I mean, who in the city actually supports the war? They’re preaching to the choir. And if they were hoping for media attention… do they really think Middle-America voters are gonna be swayed by some wannabe hippies chanting “no blood for oil” or middle-aged women in hot pink dresses? Seriously, people… find a better way! If chanting is the best way you can find, then hire a bus and do it in Alabama where you at least won’t be preaching to the choir. /rant Anyway, yes, the Haight (Upper and Lower) both have lots and lots of drugs… pot, LSD, shrooms, salvia (which is legal for the time being, but…), etc… are all very common. Especially pot. People smoke it in the open and if you walk down the street you’re sure to be
