Does anyone still have a dinner gong?
They had a purpose a long time ago, as hearing the “gong” signaled dinner, or a problem at the home…It would bring us out of the fields on the double….Now I guess you would call a cell, and text..lol…They became quite popular in the late 60’s or early 70’s again, and many bought them as decoration for the deck or porch….Now, it would be futile for a mother to call the children home with the gong, as the earphones from the Ipod would interfere…lol…I have the one from the farm, somewhere, with all the mowing scythes, cross cut saws, and the horse collars and harnesses….
