Does Anyone Send Their Kids to YMCA Camps?
Growing up my parents wanted to get me out of the house as much as possible during the summer break. Keeping me at home while I ran around the house being a typical kid was not going to add to my parents sanity. So to give them a break they would send me away to grandmas or Camp Concord. Some years it was both. I wasn’t aware that the YMCA had camps locally so I thought it would be good to spread that around to the rest of us uninformed. The Mt. Diablo YMCA is being very vocal about their upcoming Summer Camps. If I were young I’d want to go to the Wizard Camp or the Spy Camp. Those sound the most interesting. We’ll explore and create exciting chemical reactions, make colorful concoctions and bubbling brews. Amaze yourself with magical temperature changing baggie science or disappearing ghost crystals. Study the chemistry involved in not-so-simple things like chalk and soap and even experiment with the chemistry used by artists, spies and detectives! – Wizard Camp The Mad Science Secre
