Does anyone see value in merging Quality and Information Technology departments into a Business Process Management department?
It seems that both fields of expertise are ultimately about enabling and improving business processes, and improving management of business processes, through the provision of tools and methodologies. They do not actually have responsibility for design of business processes, that is up to the functional area, but do provide the means to execute those processes in the most effective manner possible. That being the case, integrating the methodology (Quality) and tools (IT) seems to hold promise for better coordination of internal services that support business processes. Does anyone agree/disagree and have any insights to share?
