Does anyone remember the Seasons Color Analysis theory?
I’ve been exposed to this philosphy three main times: – In the 1990’s when I was into photography and was learning how to dress models. – While learning how to use makeup during my esthetician training. – During a professional color matching I had done about six months ago by a wardrobe consultant. I have found that the rules are more guidelines. There are a few colors, for example, that aren’t in my “season” but that look great on me and really bring out my eyes. (Most color matching scenarios for clothing, at least, want to emphasize this feature.) It has helped with makeup. Learning general rules based on skin tone and hair color (eye color, for me at least, depends on what I am trying to achieve) makes it easy to choose shades to start with and then go from there. The thing that was actually the most helpful, however, was the booklet of swatches I was given by the wardrobe consultant. I can take it shopping with me and compare colors in a cinch.
