Does anyone remember the Bay of Pigs?

Kennedy had just come into the White House and had inherited the Bay of Pigs plan. He went along with the CIA briefing, gave a green light to invasion and the rest was history. He never trusted the CIA again. As a footnote, the Canadian navy had the fastest, single engine (propeller) fighter in the world called a Seafury. This aircraft was in the Korean Conflict and had shot down Russian MIG jets. It was that good. Canada sold 40 of these aircraft to Cuba in 1957 as they were being replaced by jet aircraft. The air support for the Bay of Pigs operation was provided by US mercenaries. They consisted of twin engine B25 and B26 bombers. Cuba shot them all down in the first 15 minutes, therefore the landings had no air support. I just thought I’d give you Canada’s contribution to American aggression.
