Nobody thinks that. Even the most stereotyped view of the Irish is that they both drink /and/ fight. And the Irish do make some very good whiskey, so you can see where the idea comes from. Here in America, the Irish have something of a positive stereotype – as lucky, gregarious, and fun-loving.

I’ve never thought of the Irish people that way. I’ve seen this vaguely depicted in a couple shows though. I listen to some of the Gaelic/Celtic music performed by people from Ireland and it’s beautiful.
