Does anyone on here know anything about serial numbers on Jackson guitars?
Tagged As: Jackson Guitar Serial Question: Does anyone on here know anything about serial numbers on Jackson guitars? I have an ’88 USA-made strat that was custom-built for a shop in New Hampshire. The serial number is 6712. Does the lack of more digits/letters signify that this is an early model? Also, the guitar has one of the early JT-6 tremolo pieces which I understand have been discontinued (i.e. no more replacement parts). Has anyone had to replace their JT-6 with another make/brand due to worn or stripped parts, and if so, how’s it work? Answer: The Jackson Tremelo is retrofitable with the Schaller tremelo. The original Floyd Rose tremelos used on Kramers were also made by Schaller. The critical item is the center-to-center distance of the studs that go into the body. The Schallers come with knurled inserts for the studs to mount to the body which I think yours already has. The Kramers used those funky wood screw studs that work loose over time and make football shaped holes in
