To replace the cylinder head(s) on this particular vehicle requires removing the entire body from the frame, due to the tight confines of the engine compartment. With that said, I would strongly NOT recommend you tackle this job yourself due to the fact that this particular engine is an interference engine BIG TIME. This means mistiming the engine WILL bend valves. But in answer to your question, the cam sprockets have timing marks or dots on them (the primary sprockets that is). To time this engine requires the passenger side cam sprocket mark to be positioned with the mark at the 10 or 11 o’clock position, while the driver side cam sprocket is positioned at the around the 1 o’clock position.
