Popcorn wasn’t invented. It was discovered. Corn (zea mays) is a plant from America … from the southern part of Mexico. It had spread all the way to where the Pilgrims and even Columbus landed. Ears of popped popcorn were often worn as decoration on some of the Caribbean islands, such as Santa Domingo where Columbus landed.
