Does anyone know which country leads the world in use of Solar Energy?
Amazing that such a cloudy country leads in solar power, but it seems to be true! America is perfectly suited for solar due to the large unoccupied desserts in the southwest… the fact that we’re not number one is absurd. Wikipedia confirms that Germany is leads in Solar: “Germany is the world’s top photovoltaics (PV) installer, accounting for almost half of the global solar power market in 2007. The country has a feed-in tariff for renewable electricity, which requires utilities to pay customers a guaranteed rate for any solar power they feed into the grid. Germans installed about 1,300 megawatts of new PV capacity in 2007, up from 850 megawatts in 2006, for a cumulative total exceeding 3,830 megawatts.1 As capacity has risen, installed PV system costs have been cut in half between 1997 and 2007.
