Does anyone know where I can get cheap golden retriever puppies in Arizona?
I’ll tell you from experience, it is better to pay more for the dog whose parentage includes dogs that have been cleared of health problems: hips, eyes, elbow, allergies, breed specific diseases, etc. I have 2 rescued Goldens…one has terrible allergies, one has severe hip dysplasia…it’s very expensive to deal with these problems, and it’s heartbreaking to watch the dogs suffer. I spend more than $1200/year on vet bills for one of these dogs…it’s much smarter to buy the dog with the best chance of being healthy. With dogs, as with many other things, you get what you pay for, and lower quality usually means higher costs long term. I’d consider $1200 cheap if it means a healthy dog.
