UK answer. There is only one site that is free, but their records are incomplete, someone as already given the details for the site which is the Freebmd site. There is only one completely free UK census and that’s the 1881 census, the census returns on the Freebmd site are once again incomplete. You can now purchase pay per view vouchers with www.ancestry.co.uk I don’t don’t know what the vouchers entitle you to see or down load, sorry. Hope this helps.
