The activation key for your PC is supposed to be stickered to it. If you’re having problems with using that key, contact Microsoft. Typically OEMs (the people who prebuild computers), have 1 copy which is pre-authenticated with MS. They then buy licenses for Windows to give to you (the sticker on your case with the CD key). However, not all of these keys end up working, but the number of people who actually reinstall with those keys is so few that they can call Microsoft, and normally Microsoft will void their current key and give them a new one once you tell them it’s the same computer and you’re just reinstalling. Also, you can’t have the same key on 2 computers unless you have a volume licensed key.

What is your question?
