Does anyone know where I can buy legal absinthe in NJ?
Absinthe in the U.S. is not the same stuff that the writers and artists were drinking in France many years ago. That was distilled from wormwood and had a tendency to ruin the minds of those who frequently imbibed. The absinthe available here in New York has very similar taste to the the real stuff and is only as harmful as any other alcoholic drink. My friend brought me back some of the good stuff from Europe last year. “Zelena Absinth muza” (exact spelling) I think if you Google it there might be a way to get it shipped to the states through their website. Otherwise go with the stuff at the local liquor merchant, most of it is pretty good.
