It’s reported that F. Scott Fitzgerald said “there are no second acts in American lives” right before he died. The line was found in the notes for a work that he never got the chance to finish. That work is called “The Love of the Last Tycoon,” originally published as “The Last Tycoon,” until literary scholars agreed that it was the wrong title.
