Does anyone know what the poem birches by robert frost mean?
The poem is a reflection study of how one can live their life. The poet likes to think a wonderful activity is to be a swinger of birch tree branches. He fantasises of a wild child who sets out to tame a whole grove of birch trees bending their branches to the ground in some form of victory. The activity is exhilarating for the poet. The reflection is about taking chances, challenging oneself, living life to the full. The poet is in tune with nature and is an optimist. He once was a swinger of birches before the responsibilities of life tamed him yet he can still consider returning to a less boring existence and ending his life in some wild activity and going out in style. One could do worse by just being safe but unchallenged.
