Does anyone know what the bright light is that many in a near death experience see?
It has long ago been proven by medical researchers that the Near-Death Experience is not the result of hypoxia. It is tiresome to hear that repeated as a fact; it is the pat answer given to anyone who has an undeniable spiritual experience of God. The bright light (which is by the way, not the kind of bright that hurts the eyes, more like a clear light) is the entrance to the Other World. When an NDE happens to you, you recognize what is going on and feel no fear whatsoever. It is not a hallucination such as you have with a high fever. It is not a problem with your optic nerve. You mind is not shutting down, you are fully, clearly conscious. You discover that your body was like an old suit of clothes dropped off, and that you are quite yourself exactly as you had been with a body.
