Does anyone know what the average new SAT scores for accepted plebes?
Average SAT: Since Class of 2009 mostly took old SAT format, I doubt they have an average score for new SAT Format. My understanding is that the average “old” format SAT score was about 1275 for accepted candidates. However, you need to careful when using averages since the academies appear to use somewhat different standards for recruited athletes, prior enlisted service and prepsters. My unofficial opinion is that a candidate not in a “special” category needs to have a 1300+ SAT score to have a reasonable chance to get an appointment. That said, a lot depends on the level of competition within the congressional district where you reside. Good luck.
