Does anyone know what the American Football World Cup is?
There seems to be some confusion about this year’s American football world cup. I hope I can clear it up once and for all. I am an American living in Japan, and play semi-pro American football here. The world cup is in Japan this year, and it runs from July 7th to 15th. Most Americans are clueless to its’ existance and rightly so since America has never participated before. They are this year, but as most people are expecting, don’t think America is going to walk all over everyone. As mentioned by another poster, Japan has won the first 2 world cups, which are played every 4 years just as the olympics. Japan just played France, and killed them 48-0. I am going to watch America’s first game tomorrow against Korea, and I will post another mail after to let you all know how it went. Korea already was beaten in their first game against Germany, and I guess they are one of the weaker teams. As far as I know, the games won’t be televised on any American network.
