Does anyone know what non realism is??

It is a broad term given for any theatrical work that doesn’t represent the real world on stage. The correct term I believe is non naturalism though. The playwrights for non naturaliasm detested representing the real world on stage. They offten embedded strong social messages within their plays. They included such theatrical styles like Epic theatre, theatre of poverty, theatre of the absurd and futurism. It has conventions that are not often seen in modern theatre such as disjointed time sequences, alienation, dream like scenes, rapid or extreme lighting and sound. It was also not performed in traditional theatrical places (I.E, not a stage) and was sometimes performed in open streets (comedia Del Arte) or warehouses (theatre of the absurd) It’s a very broad term.
