Does anyone know the simple mechanic of a PARTICLE ACCELERATOR?
The theory behind accelerating charged particles is extremely simple: Force on particle = charge of particle(velocity x Magnetic Field) So the stronger your magnetic field, the faster your particle. So here’s where we get to the complicated and expensive part, generating strong magnetic fields. This can be done in many ways, but for accelerating a particle for collision experiments, you need anywhere from 10-40 T fields combined with large tokamaks.
