I don’t know PF Chang’s specifically, but I make good chinese-style green beans. They’re easy: Soak 1 T fermented black beans in 1/4 c hot water or warmed rice wine. Add 1 t sugar and 1 T soy sauce. Sautee clean, dry green beans, some red pepper flakes and 2 cloves minced garlic in 2 T oil in wok over high heat. Yes, you want to burn them a tiny bit. When they’re cooked and a bit carmelized, still on high heat, dump in the sauce. Continue cooking until the sauce has cooked down to nearly nothing and is clinging to the beans. Garnish with two chopped green onions and serve.
