Does anyone know the french singer Gregory Lemarchal?
He was the first male to win the French “Star Academy”. He won to Lucie Bernardoni with 80% of the total votes. His debut single, “Ecris l’histoire” peaked at number two on the French singles chart in March 2005 and was certified platinum. His album, “Je deviens moi” released on April 18, entered at number one and sold more than a million copies. He was awarded “breakthrough artist of the year”. A DVD of his performance at the Olympia, a well known music hall in paris, was released. He died of complications from cystic fibrosis, a genetic syndrome, a few weeks shy of his 24th birthday, on the morning of April 30, 2007, waiting for an organ transplant. There is no cure for CF. After his death, Grégory’s family founded the charity “Association Grégory Lemarchal” which helps people living with CF. His girlfriend, Karine, was a french T.V. presenter.
