“The Day After” was a made-for-TV movie from 1983 starring Jason Robards and a cast of dozens. It’s about life in a post-nuclear war Kansas. It was on TV just recently and, for a TV movie, it’s actually very good. It won several Emmys at the time. Parts of it are pretty gross and scary and I wouldn’t recommend it for the kiddies unless you want to give them nightmares. Plot summary from IMDb: It is the mid-1980s. An aggressive Soviet leadership orders troops marched to the border of West Berlin, and then decides to invade West Germany with multiple armored tank & troop divisions.
