If you have access to a gym, the best thing for back work (and overall strength conditioning) is using an erg. An erg is a rowing machine.This is not to be confused with a weighted row machine. An erg, often a Concept 2 model, has a large circular fan wheel on the front for resistance, and a slider seat. If you have one of these in your gym, and can access it. it is not only good for strengthening the back, but also posture, abs, biceps, triceps, and overall toning. If you don’t have an erg, the seated row is also good. Also a lat pulldown machine. If you can’t get to a gym, resistance bands can be used to emulate a seated row by wrapping the band around a sturdy, weighted point and simulating the rowing motion.
