I’m sure boggleman has had experience in this but I have to say I really don’t know where the price of £1000 for a new Jazz bumper comes from. I had a complete replacement rear bumper on my Jazz last year and the work was undertaken by Honda. The whole lot, including new bumper, brackets and re-spray of affected areas was just over £400. But, as he says, depending on the size of the dent, probably best just to have your wife’s bumpers touched up.

I used to work for Honda and know that replacement bumpers are not cheap at all. That having been said, cosmetic repairs can be done with amazing results for quite reasonable prices – just get some quotes. Don’t worry about the repair affecting the value too much as most pre-owned cars have had small cosmetic repairs anyway before they go on the forecourt. In terms of cost, I’d say £80-£100-ish per area that need repairing would be reasonable – a new bumper would be about £1000-ish! The more unusual colours such as Helios Yellow, Cool Rose, Blaze Orange and Mint Opal could possibly be the hardest to match up exactly but a good bodyshop should have no problems as they will match the colour code to the chassis number. Good Luck!
