When I worked for a youth correctional facility, we had to do team activities with the other staff to promote teambuilding and trust. The facility created an entire program for this, and involve the boys also and now allow the community to participate in it, also. You can see it here: Breakthrough There is a nice slide presentation of some of the activities there. The main thing I remember for us to do for “trust” was the backwards falling thing…There was a platform built, and the staff gathered around below it. You had to fall backwards, without doing the “butt sit” pose, and trust them to catch you. Some had absolutely no problem, and plunged backwards without a thought…others wanted to “sit” as they fell, or couldn’t “release” themselves enough to even fall in the first place.
