Does anyone know of any books on egyptian mummies?
Specifically on Royal Mummies, Hawass is probably the most recent and best book: The Royal Mummies: Immortality in Ancient Egypt by Francis Janot and Zahi Hawass (Hardcover – Oct 7, 2008) but there are other good ones on mummies in general (which usually feature the royal mummies): Egyptian Mummies: Unraveling the Secrets of an Ancient Art by Bob Brier Mummies, Disease and Ancient Cultures by Thomas Aidan Cockburn, Eve Cockburn, and Theodore A. Reyman The Scientific Study of Mummies by Arthur C. Aufderheide (only in hardcover and expensive) Pyramids & Mummies by Seymour Simon There are hundreds of books on mummies for kids and teens, of very limited value for the most part. I love everything about mummies. It was how I got interested in the ancient world when I was only 13.
