Does anyone know of any authors comparable to S.E. Hinton?

I have read my fair share of S.E. Hinton. I particularly liked The Outsiders, and Rumble Fish. If I had to pick other authors that I have read which would most jump out at me as being similar to the style of Hinton, the first two that pop to my mind are Jim Butcher, and Elizabeth Peters. I am a big fan of Butcher’s The Dresden Files series, and would strongly recommend trying that out. As for Peters, I think her Amelia Peabody Series is very solid. Hope this helps and happy reading!
