You can purchase plans and books from cheap to expensive to build a strat look-alike. Special software would be useless but you could use something like Serif’s free DrawPlus to nut out a concept. Go to http://pctutorials.at3host.com and got to Software/Drawing programs to see what it can do. It’s a really powerful program. Also visit Stewart McDonald’s site. They sell books, plans, bodys and every known spare part. You can order their 100 page FREE catalogue at the same time and subscribe to their brilliant FREE Trade Secrets email newsletter. I built my own guitar. They’re cheaper to buy, but it was a lot of fun.
