Does anyone know of a GOOD African American Dermatologist located in the Chicagoland area?
If you find one, please post it or email it to me! I’m looking for one as well. To newyorkgal71: African American skin is very different from Caucasian skin, and may react differently to certain dermatological issues. Not all dermatologists specialize in the differences, so they may not recognize them as easily, especially if they are used to working with Caucasian skin. Having a doctor that can relate to you on a more personal level because he or she is in the same situation can greatly improve the level of service you receive. That is why it is so important.
