Does anyone know of a discount fabric store in the Traverse City, MI area?
While not specifically discount fabric stores I find that both often have sales. Look in particular for off-season or end-of-season fabrics. Those can get to be very reasonable. And don’t forget to check the “remnants” area – in Jo Ann’s they often have big tables at the back of the store sorted by $1 per yard, $2 per yard, and so on. When I had to create a number of black Edwardian dresses for a production of “Our Town” I got black fabric for $1.00 a yard from the tables at Jo Ann. I have also ordered entire rolls of felt or other fabrics from Jo Ann and gotten a volume discount.
