Does anyone know if there will be a third season of Rome?
The show is over at the end of the second season. They end it in a way that makes it all but impossible to bring it back. The truth is the BBC paid 15 million dollars the first season and then pulled out. HBO spent 85 million the first year and then 90 million the second year. They could not see spending another 100 million this year so the put an ending to season two that effectively killed the core of the show. There will not be a season three. Meanwhile Showtime came out with the “Tudors” to try and pick up where HBO left off. It didn’t but it is hard to find a better period in time to dramatize than Ancient Rome.
