I don’t know about that specific “League of American Poets” but it kind of sounds like what happened to me when I submitted a poem to www.poetry.com. I submitted a poem and they said it was really good, sent a bunch of letters home and then they said I could buy a book at around $45. I ordered it and it turns out my poem’s on a page of three other ppl’s poetry. I would advise just for you to go to http://www.blurb.com I haven’t yet used their system, but I’m hoping to soon. What they do there is that you download their program to make your own book, you upload all your material, and send it to them. It costs about the same, around $35-40 and you can control everything about the book. Hope that helps!
