Does anyone know if store bought regular dirt need added seprate nutrients when growing plants?

Most store bought dirt already has nutrients in the soil, however you can buy some without any. Some dirt I have bought actually has too many nutes so my seedlings get a bit of a nute burn at the beginning. Plants after growing will end up using all the nutes and will require more after a while.
