Does anyone know if Obamas health care plan has been changed by the recent economic problems?
Key points in Obama’s plan are as follows: * Guaranteed eligibility. No American will be turned away because of pre-existing illness * Comprehensive benefits, similar to that offered to members of Congress * Affordable premiums, co-pays and deductibles * Subsidies for people who do not quality for Medicaid or SCHIP but still need assistance. These are typically people who work but cannot afford policies because they don’t make enough money. They make too much for Medicaid, however. * Portability and choice. People can move from job to job without changing or jeaopardizing their coverage * Mandatory coverage for children and allow young people up to age 25 to continue their parent’s coverage * Support for small businesses with a business health tax credit of up to 50% on premiums paid on behalf of their employees.
