Does anyone know if any animal had to face extinction due to tourism in Thailand???
there is the : Lesser One-horned Rhinoceros Reason for extinction on the mainland is that they have been hunted for their horn, meat, and blood. It is believed that eating the rhinoceros will give good health and improve sexual potency. However, medical analysis has found that none of these properties exist. Another reason is the massive destruction of the tropical evergreen forest. SO there are two reasons one of them being destruction for tourism and such. Gurney’s Pitta Because of its rarity and specific habitat, the gurney’s pitta is a very expensive bird. As their limited habitat is destroyed by the construction of roads and dams extinction is threatened. Today these birds can be found in the forest reserve of Kao Phra-Bang Kram in Krabi and Trang.
