Does anyone know how to test water for E. coli?
Streak the water sample on a plate of solid media or mix it with liquid media. Incubate it at 37 ºC for a day or two and look for growth. To make sure it’s E. coli, ask a professional health organization, but you can get hints from colony shapes, sizes, colors, etc… Most E. coli is harmless (main intestinal bacteria), so I wouldn’t worry about it.
