Does anyone know how to take off popcorn on ceilings[ the rough texture ]?
It’s messy work. The following assumes someone has not used a primer to seal the popcorn stuff. Go to Lowes (or Home Depot) and get a tool made specifically for removing popcorn ceilings (in the paint section). Or you can use a putty knife, dry wall tool (used to apply joint compund) Lay down a protective covering on the floor (its messy). Get a spray bottle and spray the ceiling and get it wet. Just do a small section. Let it sit for a few and begin scraping it off. One word of caution: If your home was built before 1979, the the popcorn ceiling may contain asbestos. If so, then just use a good paint sealer (to keep peices from falling) then paint.
