Does anyone know how to make ole fashhion potato candy?
I don’t know if this is quite what you’re looking for, but here’s a recipe for a candy made with mashed potatoes. 3/4 cup mashed potatoes 1 pound flaked coconut 1 pound powdered sugar, sifted 1 teaspoon almond extract Chocolate Coating Combine all ingredients except coating and drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Roll into balls and refrigerate for about an hour. (If mixture is too soft to form into balls, refrigerate first and then roll into balls.) Dip balls into Coating (recipe follows) until completely coated with chocolate. Place on waxed paper and put in the fridge to set. Makes about 5 dozen. Chocolate Coating 2 Tablespoons butter, softened 2 Tablespoons corn syrup 3 Tablespoons water 1 package fudge frosting mix Mix butter, corn syrup and water in the top of a double boiler. Stir in the fudge frosting mix until smooth and heat over rapidly boiling water, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Note: This recipe is from the ‘Betty Crocker Cooky Book,’ and I don’t thin
