Does anyone know how to make a swimmable mermaid tail?

Same as you make any other style of mermaid tail, the difference is in the materials used. A good example is the ones found at Mertails, Inc. They make their tails from patented stretch vinyl for a shiny look and feel. I included their link so your could get a look at how they made theirs. The tails are designed to be worn over swim fins that you can buy at any deparment store. No need for high dollar specialty fins with these tails. They come in 12 different colors and are fairly inexpensive. If you are a decent seamstress, the picture alone should be enough to get you started on making your own. You might look around for patterned stretch vinyl to give your a more individual look. Another method involves pourable latex, but its only good forone use and tends to split if you are doing a lot of fast swimming in it. Also requires fins.
