I wouldn’t be eating anything that comes out of the Thames, but if you really want to catch them something meaty and smelly on the end of a piece of string will attract them, it’s not very efficient though because they can always let go as you bring them in. You could try a prawning net or a long sock held open by a ‘v’ shaped stick and a piece of meat in the bottom. A trap is still the best way to go because you can set it and leave it for a day and have the potential to catch more than one. Seriously, I would definitely have issues about eating anything out of the Thames!
