Does anyone know how to buy a used car from Germany and bring it back to the USA ?
The steering wheel in Germany is on the same side as the US. Buying older cars like that and trying to import them to the US is very difficult, not to mention expensive. You would be better off trying to locate one within our borders. However, should you try to pull it off you need to understand that the US dollar is weak right now, so it will actually cost you more to buy the same car in Europe as you would here. Secondly, you’re going to have a limited amount of time to get the car up to US standards and pass all emissions and inspection requirements. If you fail to meet said deadline, US Customs will make you ship the car back, or destroy it to a point where it is no longer drivable or repairable.
