Does anyone know how i can book any really nice Irish Castles?
The official tourism website is excellent and lists all of the approved castles etc. Search ‘where to stay’ specifying ‘historic houses’ and you’ll get a list of accommodation from all over the island: http://www.discoverireland.ie There is also a function which allows you to see what festivals and events are on – this can be a helpful way of choosing where to visit. The Blue Book is a private listing which also has details of castle and manor house accommodation: http://www.irelands-blue-book.ie/ For a general guide book, the DK Eyewitness guide to Ireland is one of the best. It gives detailed suggested itineraries for self-drive tours of Ireland.
